Madill offers small-town Texoma living that’s close to where the action is, without the high price tag. This small, but growing community has a lot to offer. From charming homes with big front porches to endless summer days on nearby Lake Texoma and festivals that will take you back in time, Madill has something for every member of the family! The downtown square has many quaint shops, diners, churches, and local services that have anchored the town for decades. Spend the afternoon shopping at one of the trendy boutiques or take a trip back to the good ‘ole days at the Museum of Southern Oklahoma.
One of the selling points of Madill is its central location between Ardmore and Durant. Both of these economic hubs of Southern Oklahoma are just a half hour drive. This means great shopping, dining, and job opportunities are all within reach. However, an even bigger selling point is the proximity to both Lake Texoma and Lake Murray. Enjoy boating, water skiing, fishing tournaments, camping, hiking, biking, golf, horseback riding, hunting, historical sites, craft fairs, and casinos—all within a half hour of home!
Annual events include the popular National Sand Bass Festival, which draws 30,000 visitors each June to the Madill Square for a week of carnival-style fun, live music, arts and crafts, food booths, and more. The Madill FFA Rodeo, the oldest in Oklahoma, takes place in April along with the Marshall County Antique Iron Tractor Show. You’ll love celebrating Independence Day in a patriotic community and capping off the evening with fireworks over Lake Texoma. When fall rolls around, the Marshall County Fair takes place in September, and there are two great events in October. The first is the Reuel Little Classic 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon, which is quickly becoming one of the best attended runs in the state. Additionally, the Madill Art Show is held at the community center in city park, with amateur and professional artists from Southern Oklahoma and North Texas competing for recognition and prize money. Just before Christmas, the young and young at heart will love the idyllic Christmas parade that is presented by the local chamber of commerce.
